We watched the first 2 periods then had to get home. The Trojans fought hard. The goalie we thought was great. The SJSU has us outgunned. I think USC needs a practice rink. Is there any way to get an ice rink built near USC with redevelopment money? This would also be a way for inner city kids to play hockey. Or some kind of a partnership with the Kings?
We live in San Jose and our whole family plays hockey. We have seen the San Jose Sharks helping out the Spartans with coaching and help.
Does USC get any help from the Kings?
Seems like an uneven match. Also seems like SJSU plays more like year round as the rink is within walking distance practically from SJSU.
Very unfair, like playing football against a team that does not have a practice field?
We thought the Trojans frought hard against all odds not to mention the horrible commute and exhaustion of a long ride up here.

The Trojans practice in Lakewood Glacial Gardens near LAX. The team itself does not get any help from the Kings, although their home rink, Anaheim Ice, is the Ducks practice facility as well.
The only partnership with the Kings had been a game a season after the Kings games against UCLA in the Staples Center. Beyond that, not much of anything.
The Galen Center near campus was originally planned to include a hockey rink, but because of construction delays, the idea was scrapped. Obviously it would be fantastic to see the Trojans playing at a rink closer to campus, but with money as tight as it is in LA.
The Trojans did play hard considering the circumstances, but the lack of chemistry offensively is troubling.
Great insight!
