USC loses to Stanford 6-5. For those of you who didn't hear it, it was an incredible game, dominated by #17 Joe Ulerich. He scored 4 goals with 2 assists and made the USC defense look silly. The Trojans, for their part had a solid performance from their first line (combined 4 goals, 3 assists on the night) and Michael Nijjar had a statement game in his return to the Trojan lineup (1 G, 1 A). USC even led 4-1 early in the third period, before Ulerich took over. The game winner was scored by Dave Creighton, assisted by Ulerich, with just 2:24 left. But the real dagger was a shorthanded goal minutes earlier that tied the game up at 5. Once that goal was scored, you could see the energy drop out of the team. They played the most physical they have all season, but that isn't saying much. Should be an interesting grudge match tomorrow night at 6 pm PST.
