1-0 after 1 period.... Both teams have had their fair share of chances. Trojans maybe a little disappointed not to get a goal out of theirs. Positives for USC have been an increased level of chemistry and a higher level of energy out on the ice. Negatives have been that they've given the puck away WAY too much in their own zone. The breakout is simply not working right now.

Alex,
We love your broadcast. I'm here in Calgary with Dante's brother, Alex, who plays Midget Major AAA in Calgary for the Calgary Flames as their starting goalie and I'm Dante's Dad, also by the same name - Dante Caravaggio. The middle names are different. Dante's family lives in Calgary, Canada and we're listening to your broadcast here in Canada and love it. Dante's Mom is in the stands today with his little brother and sister (Nicky and Lauren).
It doesn't sound like USC is hitting enough and crashing the net enough. How about doing what you can to get USC to really take it to Arizona State.
Arizona State has two teams, an ACHA Div 1 and Div 2 team. Do you know what's up with that and what the chances are for USC to move up to Div 1.
Thank you again for the telecast, its the only way for us to hear how our boy is doing in Canada. Some background on Dante is that that he started playing hockey in Los Angeles at 6 years old and then played PeeWee A in Houston, then made Bantam AAA in Calgary then played Midget AA and AAA in Calgary. He was an all-star defenseman for his team last year and their leading scoring D-man.

2-1 USC after two periods. The forechecking is really making the difference out there for USC. The second line of McLinn, Comisar, and Nijjar has been stellar and got rewarded with a goal for it. There's a feeling the first line will get one on the board before this game is over. Period 3 will get underway soon, should be a good one. As for USC moving up to Division 1... it's a little tough to expect that given that a) they didn't win their own conference last season and b) haven't been a factor in ACHA's recently. If USC starts making noise at the national level in D2, then Wilbur will not hesitate to try and make a move up I would think.

USC wins 3-1. An impressive effort for the Trojans as they get their first win of the season and get to start off on the right foot in Pac 8 play. Great chemistry from SC's forward lines. ASU had the better of the physical play, but USC's first two lines ended up being just a little too good. I'll try and get an update on McLinn's status.

Goal scorers for USC in the game... Lewis - PP Nijjar (Comisar) Roth (Lofthus) PP
McLinn had a shoulder injury today. He could be out anywhere from 2 weeks to several months depending on the degree of any tear or separation. USC trainer Cindy did not think he had any broken bones.
