Hey guys... Broadcast starts in about 20 minutes. You can post questions and comments regarding the game here and I'll try to address them on-air. I'll be going off of a cell phone, so I won't have as many hands free as usual. -Alex

Trojans tied with the Aztecs 1-1 after 1.... Both teams look evenly matched. This should be one heck of a series. There might be a few chemistry issues with the first line, but we'll see how things get hammered out.... Second period starts in about 15 minutes.

Odd.... The cellular reception is a little spotty.... I've been dialed in according to Teamline... Score is 2-1 SDSU after two periods. Trojans looked even with the Aztecs in the first, but really were under pressure in the second. Buttweiller's played well so far.

For tomorrow's game I should have a phone line, so there shouldn't be any problems tomorrow from Anaheim Ice. Keep trying if you can't hear me, because I may have disconnected and then reconnected.

USC falls 3-1. After a strong first period, the Trojans were mostly bottled up in their own zone in the second period and couldn't get a quality enough scoring opportunity in the third. WHAT WE LEARNED: The Trojans first line of Joyce, Lofthus, and Roth is speedy but is still missing a little bit of chemistry. If they can develop that, they will be an opposing coach's nightmare. Mach and Comisar could be the next Adler and Koechling combination for USC. Those two play great together and will be a force for the Trojans this season. Matt Buttweiller did as well as can be expected. He faced an avalanche of shots and short of a breakaway goal that slipped through 5-hole, he looked very solid. Dante Carvaggio is a very active force for the Trojans, but may give up as many opportunities as he creates. He's a great coast-to-coast risk taking threat, but he ended up giving up more opportunities this game than creating them. San Diego State is a very good team. They should have no problem making the jump to DII. They generate offensive opportunities from their defense and have no problem making defenders look like pylons. The combination of Sansone and Nicoll is deadly, while their defensman Smith made USC look silly at times tonight.
Tomorrow should be a great game. Trojans will have to try and find a way to generate more offense against a large SDSU defense. Matt Buttweiler will have to be clutch for USC to come away a winner. Expect a closer game.
That's all I've got. Thanks for everyone who tuned in... The broadcast should be a little more stable tomorrow night as I'm broadcasting from a hard line instead of a cell phone.
Good night and fight on!
