One more time for the benefit of the MAC users: 3rd Period begins with ASU leading 6 - 1 USC scores...couldn't understand who it was (quality of broadcast is poor). Also, the ASU broadcasters don't seem to have a complete roster, and frequently complains that they don't know who #9 is, who I believe is Cory Adler. now 6 - 2 Slashing USC Even strength ASU Scores - 7 -2 Goal USC: Lofthus - 7 - 3 Goal USC: #9 - (Adler?) now 7-4 FINAL

Hi
First time poster here. Our contact there said Foley was in the net. Heard it was his first time on ice in a long time. Did a credible job considering.
Unless we're doing musical jersies again, I think you're right that #9 is Corey Adler. Loftus is #19. #28 is Porter.

I was told Foley would be in net by my contacts. However, from what has been described with #33 being in net, I now think it must be Andrew Clark who played again, despite what I was told. Foley was wearing 35. Adler is 9, Loftus is 19, and 28 is Porter. The ASU broadcaster would have had an accurate roster if he either checked our webpage or the email I sent him last night with our roster. Our webpage is correct, and the one I sent him last night was correct and even had Foley as #35. The only thing not on the one I sent was Andrew Clark. Anyway, now you can all realize how awesome our broadcasters are, and never have to complain about them!!! Just kidding. Anyway, Alumni Game next weekend (will not be broadcast (duh), but the weekend after that we will be back to broadcast the Cal series. Hope you tune in then. Also, keep your eyes posted....we hope to try to start the Wilbur show at some point! Fight On!

My reliable source told me Foley was in net and that he played great!

My source was at the game and said it was Foley. If so, he did a great job coming in cold like that and facing all of those shots.
ASU is an interesting team. I heard they swept Oregon and got swept by DIII Northern Arizona (we know 3 players on that team).

Hey guys.
Let's clear up some confusion (and judging by the ASU broadcast there must have been a lot).
#9 was definitely Cory. Everyone had their usual numbers tonight. I was definitely in goal tonight with #35 and Buttweiler was on the bench (but unavailable because of injury) with #33. You get a penalty if you don't have a backup so he was there to help us avoid that.
As for the game...the first period was more back and forth similar to last night, only ASU did manage to get two by me. ASU really came out and played a lot better than they did l;ast night though. Maybe the realization that they got severely outplayed sank in overnight.
We ran into a lot of problems in the second. From my perspective, there were two goals I really wanted back. We were really on our heels all period and I took a penalty too (which we managed to kill off...I covered the puck way out of the net and the refs called a delay of game. Broke up a would be breakaway though). It was just a bad 20 minutes for all of us. We trailed 6-1 at intermission.
We really turned things around in the third. The goal was to just outplay and outscore ASU in the last 20 regardless of how much we were down by, and everyone stepped up. I had my best period of the game by far, and the we outscored ASU 3-1. The puck was in their end a majority of the period. Just a great showing by the guys after how rough the second period was. They showed so much heart...I was really proud of the team regardless of the final score.
I actually just got back to LA and I'm exhausted so I'm going to bed. I'll check back tomorrow though if anyone had any other questions.
2-1 over the weekend and the toughest part of the schedule is out of the way. Not bad at all. Not to mention the fact that we were competitive with one of the better teams in the Pac-8 with a goalie playing his first game on ice...ever. I said it before and I'll say it again; if we are allowed into the Pac-8 Tournament regardless of rank I'd see us as the favorites.
As for that poor excuse for a football team...something to talk about on another day.

So it was you. Congratulations on a great effort. I was not there but it sounded like you played a heck of a game.
